Vincent Valdez: Just A Dream... Eco Tote Bag

Vincent Valdez’s artwork reveals the conditions of contemporary American society, both its missteps and its progress. Our dreams and denials are all fodder for the artist. Since painting murals at age ten, Valdez (b. 1977, San Antonio; based in Houston and Los Angeles) has examined the social amnesia he sees recurring through history, urging us to reckon with the past. Just a Dream… is Valdez's first survey exhibition, uniting 25 years of his creative practice. The variety of mediums he explores—including a vintage ice cream truck, drawings, video, prints, and bronze—demonstrates the artist’s breadth beyond his celebrated monumental figurative paintings.
