Vincent Valdez: Just a Dream… a full-color, bilingual publication accompanies the upcoming exhibition of the same name. This exhibition catalogue features writings that address Valdez’s work through the lens of America today. Contributors include Evan Garza, Denise Markonish, Joyce Carol Oates, and Patricia Restrepo. Garza focuses on the relationship between Valdez’s work and the U.S.-Mexico border, Markonish on the new turn in his recent practice, and Restrepo on how the “personal is political” manifests in the artist’s oeuvre. The catalogue includes never-before reproduced full-color illustrations of Valdez’s early work.
